International Women's Day 2026

International Women's Day 2026 celebration held at the Siliguri Institute of Technology (SIT) on Monday, March 9 2026. The program, held at the Sir J.C. Bose Seminar Hall, centered on the global theme: "Rights. Justice. Action. For All Women and Girls."

The event emphasized women's rights and health awareness, featuring talks on equality and social responsibility, alongside a health check-up camp for students and staff.

Key Highlights of the Event:
Objective: To focus on women's empowerment, rights, and social responsibility through a series of sessions involving students, faculty, and the local community.

Chief Guest: Dr. Mousree Basistha (South Calcutta Law College), who emphasized collective action to build an inclusive society where women live with dignity and equal opportunities.

Guest of Honour: Priti Minz (Social Activist), who delivered a talk titled "Give to Gain," highlighting how generosity and social responsibility contribute to personal and community growth.

Community Support: A health check-up camp was organized for female participants in collaboration with Neotia Getwel Hospital and Manokamna Hospital. Dr Monika Agarwal, renowned Gynaecologist, Dr. Mohua Chowdhury and Dr. Amrita Saha shared their valuable consultation in the medical camp for the good health of the patients.
